Under 15 "B" Team Match Reports
The Under 15's play in the "B" League of the John Bryan Coventry Minor League
Match Reports History
Sunday 13th Sept Triumph Athletic (1) 5 – 0 (0) Central Ajax
Scorers /
Koczkowski,James,A.Morris,
The 15s beat a spirited Ajax side in a game they were rarely in trouble. They scored early in the 1sthalf but couldn’t find the 2nd goal for all there pressure but played some excellent football which was the best id seen for a very long time. The goals flowed in the 2nd half to kill the game off & to there credit they exceeded there 1st half performance to play even better scoring 4 goals without reply. Man of the match Liam Williams was excellent at full back with some great attacking play & skill which we know he is capable off. Some great finishes too from Olly & Danny & a welcome return for Jordan who will be like a new signing having missed the first 3 games of the season.
Brilliant lads.
Sunday 27th Sept Chapelfields (1) 2 – 2 (1) Triumph Athletic
Scorers / Hobson, McKernan.
Triumph picked up a more than deserved point on the road in there 3rd away game on the trot against Chaps.
Another good performance from the lads who should of collected all 3 pts on chances which is pleasing as we progress up the league.
Good performances all round but Sean Harveys double save in the 2nd half was wonderful to watch.
On another day Danny James could have had a hat-trick but the luck deserted him for this game.
Our passing & team spirit is the best its been in the 4 years I have been doing this.
We are improving every game & its only a matter of time before we roll together a convincing result.
Well done boys.
Thursday 10th Sept GNP Gurdwara 0 – 4 Triumph Athletic
Scorers / James, Morris (3)
We beat G.N.P Gurdwara 4 – 0 away from home last night with goals from Danny James and & hat trick from Aiden Morris.
A much improved performance from the boys who were always in complete control & scored 4 good goals with the pick being Danny James 25 yard free kick.
Also Aidens hat trick will be a big confidence boost as he still gains fitness after his injury last season.
Still lots to work
on so lets not get carried away as I know we can get even better in the
games to follow.
Well done to everyone.
Sunday 6th Sept Brinklow (3) 4 – 3 (0) Triumph Athletic
Scorers / McCarthy (2) Koczkowski
The U15s B started off the season with a defeat at the hands of newly promoted Brinklow. A bad start after 1 minute became terrible after 15 minutes when we found ourselves 2 down & chasing the game already. Although Triumph started with 11 players they were soon down to 10 after the 2ndgoal went in & played like that for the next 40 minutes as A.Morris couldn’t shake off a dead leg. We then had a free kick given offside by the Ref with Hobson thinking he had scored but the lines man who didn’t give it said it wasn’t offside & the goal should have stood, no luck again. Brinklow took advantage off this & netted a 3rd going into the break to lead 3 – 0.
The 2nd half remained the same with the hosts having 3 or 4 good chances to kill the game off but Harvey stood strong in goal. Triumph then back with 11 players began to get back into the game & the feeling was at half time if we could gat the 1 goal we would score more & this proved to be the case as Triumph swept 3 goals in to square the game up with only 5 minutes to go. Danny James then had a great chance to win the game but was denied by the keeper.
But as last season proved, déjà vu struck again as Brinklow scored a late winner out of nothing. A free kick given to the hosts wasn’t cleared & with the ball in the air a speculative over head kick looped over Harvey into the net to give the host all 3 pts. A great game which was a tale of 2 halves. No excuses for Triumph as they had done the hard work in getting back into the game only to fall to a shot that could of gone anywhere.
All credit to the lads who after a much changed team looked the part in the 2nd half. We need to get some more luck in front of goal & after a few more games will be up & running as we were last season. Also common sense would have prevailed had the league allowed us not to play this game without any subs as other teams could have filled in for us on the day. Playing games without a sub is not the way to do it & it is unfair to expect 14 year old kids to play in these conditions. A big thanks to Danny McCarthy who only signed on Friday to make sure we could field a team for Sunday.
Great debuts from Liam,Olly & Deniz who slotted in to midfield in the 2nd half. And also a word for Danny McCarthy who when pushed up front scored 2 goals to give us hope. And well done to all the other lads who battled there way back onlt to have it snatched away at the last.
Steve
